
Siemens: Leveraging an Innovative Event
Challenge: In the world of manufacturing, Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. helps companies reach their manufacturing and operational goals through a strategic mix of products, software and services. With customers that include some of the world's largest companies, Siemens was challenged with being viewed as a leader in the areas of safety, innovation and global competitiveness. Siemens approached Peppercommotions, Peppercom’s event management division, to create a strategic industry event that would help deliver on Siemens' value proposition and establish Siemens as a true thought leader among customers and industry influencers.
Strategy & Execution: Peppercommotions helped Siemens plan the Siemens-Forbes Innovation Summit, designed to address the critical issues facing manufacturing today. The Summit, held at the New York Stock Exchange, resulted in a key partnership with Forbes magazine and another with MIT. Siemens hosted 35 senior executives and their spouses for an event that combined stimulating industry discussions, an opportunity to interact with best-of-breed companies in the manufacturing world.
Result: From a full day of panels and keynotes at the New York Stock Exchange (where speakers included Steve Forbes, Bruce Upbin, Al Frink and Governor Edward Rendell of Pennsylvania), to upscale celebrations, Siemens executives and customers were immersed in the spirit of innovation as they discussed, debated and planned for global manufacturing challenges in the months and years ahead. As a result, 44% of respondents said that all of the topics were relevant, 33% of respondents stated that their perception of Siemens improved greatly after the event, and 89% of respondents said they would definitely attend such an event again.
